Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services presents our annual fashion show in honor of domestic violence awareness month. The purpose of our show is to shine a light on domestic violence and to empower women, men, and families. The show will feature pieces from more than 20 local stores, 2 local designers, and 25 one-of-a-kind pieces from OSU’s Apparel Design program within the Design Housing and Merchandising Department. The students’ work will be on featured in local retailers’ window displays throughout October. The show is free of charge.
October 12th: Purple Light Bulb Distribution
- 10:00-2:00, Wal-Marts in Stillwater, Perry, and Cushing
Wings of Hope will distribute purple light bulbs for $2.00 each outside of Wal-Mart stores in our community in preparation for purple light night on October 13th
October 13th: Purple Light Night
Those who have purple light bulbs will install the bulb outside of their home for this special night. The purple light signifies the fight against domestic violence.
October 24th: Candlelight Vigil
- 6:00, Boomer Lake West Pier
This event honors the lives that have been lost to domestic violence. We will walk the Lake as a group starting at 6:00pm. The walk will be followed by a candlelight vigil on the pier. The vigil will feature poetry contest submissions that honor victims.
